Darlington, Sept 26 -- Michael S. SUMMERS, 88, a retired farmer and resident of this place for the past 5 years died at his home Saturday morning at 3 o'clock following an illness of one year. Mr. Summers' death was caused by heart trouble and old age. Mr. Summers was born in Tippecanoe County on Nov 9, 1842. he and his family resided in and around Clark's Hill until moving here 5 years ago. He was a member of the United Brethren Church. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mary S. Summers; 5 sons; 4 daughters; 28 grandchildren and 7 greats. The sons are: Everett and William of Clark's Hill; Frank and Clarence of Detroit; John W. of Frankfort. The daughters are: Mrs. Ollie Clark, Alamo; Mrs. Pearl Taylor, Waveland; Mrs. Lulu Richardson of Linden; and Miss Ann Summers, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be conducted at the home on Monday afternoon at 2 and will be in charge of Rev. Charles Campbell of the White Church.
